Thus says the Lord: Cease your cries of mourning. Wipe the
tears from your eyes. The sorrow you have shown shall have its reward.
There is hope for your future.
Jeremiah 31:15-17
Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat is a journey of spiritual healing to help women and men overcome the painful effects of an abortion experience. The retreat offers a sanctuary in which to renew, rebuild and redeem hearts broken by abortion in a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment. Retreats are held in both Catholic and Interdenominational settings. The leaders include a highly trained team of facilitators, including a qualified counsellor, a spiritual guide and a priest.

A workshop for those in Christian post abortion ministry
Rachel’s Vineyard, Sydney invites those involved in
post abortion healing ministry to a half day workshop with Tom Ryan, a Marist
priest and theologian, who has worked with Rachel’s Vineyard in Brisbane and
recently published a book, Shame Hope and the Church, A Journey with Mary.
This workshop will inform and affirm those in post
abortion ministry by exploring the way Jesus and Mary carry shame that is
transformative. Can the story of shame be a space where healing and hope can
take place? How can confronting and naming shame become a catalyst for
ascribing new meaning to the story? How do Jesus and Mary face moments of shame
and humiliation to produce redemptive opportunities.
This workshop will assist post abortive pastoral
carers to appreciate how the retreat and ancillary practices promote healing
and hope in women and men who have experienced shame, guilt, grief and loss
after an abortion.
This workshop is for all who care for people suffering
post abortion stress – priests, pastoral carers, parish teams, mental health
practitioners, general practitioners, professional health practitioners and
those suffering post abortion stress in their own life.
Tom Ryan’s book will be for sale on the day
